Riss Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 July 2026

The short version: Riss collects no data. No account, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no server that ever sees your notebooks. Everything stays on your iPad.

Who we are

Riss is made by Abegia, a brand operated by Zatacka Holding AS (Org. no. 918 717 978), Oslo, Norway. This policy covers the Riss app; abegia.com has its own site-wide policy.

What Riss stores — and where

Your notebooks — ink strokes, pages, bookmarks, and settings — live in Riss's private, local database on your iPad. Nothing is stored anywhere else.

Permissions Riss asks for

None. Riss requests no permissions at all — no camera, no microphone, no photos, no location, nothing. It opens, and you write.

What leaves your iPad

Nothing, unless you export it. Riss has no network code: no uploads, no telemetry, no third-party SDKs. When you export a notebook to PDF or back up your library, the files go exactly where you send them via the share sheet — and nowhere else.

Device backups

If you have iCloud Backup or local device backups enabled, your Riss data may be included in those backups. That is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy — we have no part in it and no access to it.

Your rights

Because Riss collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our side — your data is on your iPad, under your control. Deleting the app deletes its data. For any question about this policy, contact us and we'll help.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Any change will keep the same principle: Riss does not collect your data.
