The short version: Hugin collects no data. No account, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no server that ever sees your recordings. Everything stays on your Mac.
Hugin is made by Abegia, a brand operated by Zatacka Holding AS (Org. no. 918 717 978), Oslo, Norway. This policy covers the Hugin app; abegia.com has its own site-wide policy.
Your recordings are ordinary video files saved where you choose. Until you save, in-progress recordings live in Hugin's private app folder. Your preferences (bubble style, background, resolution) are stored in the app's local settings. That's all — there is no database, no cache we mine, no hidden copy.
Each permission is requested by macOS the first time the feature is used, and each can be revoked at any time in System Settings.
Nothing. Hugin has no network code: no uploads, no telemetry, no update pings, no third-party SDKs. Your recordings exist only where you save them.
One nuance worth being precise about: subtitles are generated with Apple's speech recognition, which runs on your Mac for most languages. For a small number of languages without an on-device model, macOS may use Apple's server-based speech service — that exchange is between your Mac and Apple under Apple's privacy policy, and we never see or receive your audio either way.
If you have iCloud Backup or local device backups enabled, your Hugin data may be included in those backups. That is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's terms and privacy policy — we have no part in it and no access to it.
Because Hugin collects no personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on our side — your data is on your Mac, under your control. Deleting the app deletes its data. For any question about this policy, contact us and we'll help.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Any change will keep the same principle: Hugin does not collect your data.
